About Me
My name is Connor Pickles, and I’m a BSc Computer Science (Honors) from the University of Victoria. As part of my honors project, my supervisor recommended that I start a blog to document work that I was putting in, as a tool to show what I had done regardless of how complete the finished product was. I somewhat begrudingly took this advice, and ended up quite enjoying writing about the technical problems I encountered while working on the project. Combine that with a desire for a better outlet where I could talk about the games that I’m currently playing (and some boredom over winter break) and this blog was born.
I am just beginning my career in game development, working as an Associate Programmer (Build) on Minecraft Legends at Blackbird Interactive. Video games are my single biggest passion, and I spend most of my free time either playing games across a variety of genres or watching videos that analyze the design of games. My dream job would be to work on video games both as a programmer and as a designer, combining my technical skill with my many (too many if you asked my mother) years of playing games.
